Bri Majors

Thirteen Years of Paying Attention.

Complex hiring isn't just a recruiting problem.
It's an operating problem.

I partner with Design organizations to build the systems, decision support, and shared operating environments that help recruiting teams and hiring leaders make better hiring decisions together.

the short version, at least.

Let Me Cook

How I Think.

Every system has two sides:
the one that scales,
and the one people actually have to live with.

I design for both.

🧭

Systems I Build

Strategic infrastructure — the frameworks, rubrics, tools, and playbooks I design so that great hiring doesn't depend on any one person's memory or availability.

  • Hiring frameworks built from scratch
  • Sprint strategy and phased execution planning
  • Calibration rubrics and hard filter logic
  • Recruiter enablement assets
  • Portfolio evaluation standards
  • AI-powered workflow architecture

Designing Human Moments

I believe every touchpoint in the hiring process is a design decision. The way I open a call, close a rejection, prep a candidate, and communicate through silence — none of that is personality. It's practice.

  • "Are you thriving or surviving?" — I always ask
  • Candidate prep calls before every interview
  • Thoughtful, honest rejection conversations
  • Radical transparency about process and timeline
  • Long-tail communication — staying warm through silence
  • Making space for every question, no matter how small

Partnership by Design

I don't manage hiring managers. I earn their trust, learn how they think, and become genuinely invested in their success. The best partnerships I've built weren't assigned — they were designed, conversation by conversation.

  • Calibrating by listening before advising
  • Challenging decisions respectfully and with data
  • Creating shared ownership of hiring outcomes
  • Translating ambiguity into frameworks PEs can act on
  • Knowing when to push and when to hold
  • Building trust fast enough to matter

Strategic Thinking

I think in systems before I think in tasks. Every search I run has a plan behind it — phased, de-risked, and designed to compress the distance between first screen and confident hire.

Sprint Strategy — Selected Work
"Your sprint plan was the first of its kind I've ever seen from a Hiring Partner." — Hiring Partner, Design
  • Front-load signal, protect interview weeks
  • 25–30 total candidates — tight, not scattered
  • Decision gates at every phase
  • Risk mitigated before it compounds

The pattern that follows me.

Trust
"She generates buy-in from peers, clients, and leaders. She is exceptional at customer service, taking initiative, decision making, and interpersonal skills. I highly recommend Brianna for any role that she sets out to achieve."
Queena Brown·Manager, Tommy Bahama·Early Career
Curiosity
"She quickly worked hard to understand the ins and outs of a new industry and how to be effective in her role. If Brianna is interested in working with you, don't sleep on the opportunity."
Aaron Backman·Manager, iTrellis·Foundation Years
Advocacy
"Bri paved the way for demonstrating what it truly means to hire diverse talent. She was not only a fellow team member, but a mentor. Hiring her could quite literally revolutionize the way the company brings in and transforms their talent."
Bre Guzman·Senior Design Program Manager, Amazon·2022
Leadership
"Bri is a wonderful talent partner and company champion that makes teams better. Her incredible intuition and empathetic approach enabled us to identify talent based on their maximum potential. I have a deep respect for the accountability she holds for herself and others."
Dustin Ground·Director of Design, Adobe·2024
Partnership
"I see her as a peer and thought partner. She's constantly helping me stay on track and reminds me of what matters when reviewing candidates. Very AI fluent, and leverages new tools to make the recruiting function even more effective."
Design Leader·Head of Design · Gusto·2025
Innovation
"Bri has played a foundational role in how we talk about equity and offers in Invite, and that work hasn't been visible enough. The equity agent that's now being socialized is a direct extension of the approach she helped originate and prove out. Our tools — and our candidates — are better because of you."
Cross-functional Executive Partner·Director, Invite Operations · Gusto·2026
Executive Trust
"In challenging and ambiguous circumstances, Bri has consistently shown up as a partner, as resilient, and as someone I trust to continue to progress things. She holds high expectations for the candidate experience and moves roles forward thoughtfully and with urgency."
Amy Thibodeau·Chief Design Officer · Gusto·2026
Humanity
"I just want to thank you again for taking the time to prep me for the interview. The way you closed our call was incredibly kind. I really felt your empathy and encouragement. Out of all the companies I've been interviewing with, you're the only one who's expressed that kind of support, and it truly meant a lot to me."
A Candidate·The reason all of this matters

One of the questions I ask candidates most often is:

"Are you thriving, or are you surviving?"

It isn't a screening question. It's an invitation. The answer doesn't change whether someone is qualified. It changes how we begin the conversation.

Every system on this site ultimately exists to create better moments between people.

Months after one search concluded, the candidate shared this publicly:

"I had a feeling about this one from the very first question they asked me. Not a screening question, a human one, and it left room for an honest answer. The rest of the process went exactly the same way."

Robert Ritacca·Principal Product Designer

For me, that's the real measure of success. Not that a role closed. Not that a system worked. That the experience remained consistently human from the first conversation to the last.

About

The work behind the work.

Thirteen years in recruiting — Amazon, Adobe, Twitter, Rakuten, Gusto. Always the most senior, most ambiguous searches. But recruiting was never the throughline.

I walk into environments where something doesn't exist yet, wasn't working, or needed to mature. I build the missing infrastructure. I leave behind systems that continue creating value after I've moved on.

At Gusto, that looked like Hiring Compass — a Claude-native AI system that preserves how hiring managers think. At iTrellis, it looked like rebuilding an entire recruiting function from scratch. At Amazon, it looked like changing how a team approached diverse talent.

The title has always been recruiter. The practice has long been informed by service design — but what I actually build are operating environments: the systems, rhythms, and decision infrastructure that outlast any single hire.

"I don't build systems because I love systems. I build systems because I care about the people who have to use them." — Bri Majors
Let's Talk

If you're rethinking how hiring should work, I'd love to talk.

I'm currently exploring senior staff and principal recruiting roles, along with talent strategy and operations roles built around AI-assisted hiring decisions.

"Great hiring doesn't happen because you find exceptional people. It happens because you build exceptional systems for recognizing them."
